This recipe for beef and broccoli is not only simple, but very delicious. Any recipe where you use the same pan for everything gets two thumbs up from this gal.
Beef and Broccoli
2 servings
1/2lb flank steak, sliced in to VERY thin slices, against the grain. Partially freezing the meat will make it a little easier to slice thinly. I use flank steak because it's relatively cheap and very easy to cut.
2 shallots or 1 small onion, chopped
1T sesame seeds, and some extra for topping
small bag of frozen broccoli, 8-10oz (this makes the recipe even easier since you don't have to prep the broccoli)
1/2 cup Soyaki sauce from trader joes or any variety of teriyaki sauce, and 2T extra
After slicing the beef add to a small bowl with salt, pepper and 1/2 c soyaki and set aside to marinate while all other ingredients are prepped. Do this ahead of time if you want the meat to absorb a lot of the flavor in the marinade.
Heat a skillet to medium heat with a tablespoon of canola oil or vegetable oil. Add beef and brown, about 2 minutes.
Remove beef from pan and add bag of broccoli, shallots and sesame seeds. Cook until broccoli is thawed and then add meat back to the pan. Add the 2 remaining tablespoons of soyaki and serve.
Sprinkle with extra sesame seeds.
Serve alone or with white rice.
